Artist Spotlight: Carolyne
"I want to share my art in a meaningful way."
Carolyne has always been fascinated by the body and the way a piece can accentuate it and flow with it. Her work is illustrative, drawing inspiration from nature, organic flows, and hints of East Asian traditional artwork: flowy black linework, florals, and calligraphy on the arms and legs.
Two years into tattooing, what she values most at Old Crow is the environment and the community. "Everyone is friendly and has their own style."
Her advice for clients is simple: come in with an open mind, but don't be afraid to ask questions and communicate. "It's better to be over-prepared than under."
If you're nervous to book: "Don't be afraid to ask questions."
Outside the shop she draws and sews a lot, usually with a true-crime podcast or some alt/indie rock or K-pop on. If she weren't tattooing, she'd be a graphic or fashion designer. Her best meal after a long day: fish tacos from Cholita Linda.
